Cher Public

La commedia comincia

Hello, hello, cher public? You called, I can’t hear a thing. Well, actually at the moment I can’t hear your chat, which is the problem. The software used for the regular “La Casa della Cieca” chat is somehow mucking up the smooth operation of the site, and so, for the moment, your doyenne asks to you chat in an alternate fashion, to be explained after the jump.

For today’s broadcast of Cav/Pag at least, La Cieca will create a new post (this one) to use for discussion of the broadcast. Enter your discussion and general chatter as you would a normal parterre comment. After you hit the “enter” button the page will refresh and at that point you can see any new comments.

Of course, if you don’t have anything to say and you want to keep up with the conversation, you can manually refresh by hitting F5 (Windows) or Command-R (Mac).

The parterre technical team will continue to look into the chat issue, especially as we move forward with a relaunch of the entire site this spring. In the meantime, you can also use the comments area of this post to discuss what features you want in a parterre chat… including whether a comment-based chat like this one is sufficient.

Ciao tutti, looking forward to getting our old chat format back.

Berti doing a good job tonight is just a sign of how singers have good and less good nights, sometimes even in the same role.
I am just enjoying these native italians meaning every word they sing..

    • antikitschychick

same here moi and yes I totally agree.

  • antikitschychick

well overall Pagliacci was a good performance. Cavalleria not so much except for Lee and Maestri. Really hope the tempo issues in Cav are resolved. Wonder how Tamura will fair as Turridu? Guess I’ll have to see and find out lol.

He will fare well or this will be his Met farewell.

  • antikitschychick

200 performances conducted by Luisi just this season? That IS a lot.

  • Jungfer Marianne Leitmetzerin

    Ciao, tutto!

  • arepo

Bravo Berti. He brought it home.

  • antikitschychick

Yes bravi tutti and now time for some lunch!!

  • Constantine A. Papas

Luisi conducted 200 performances! That’s amazing, and as a reward for filling in for Levine, he’s getting the boot amidst byzantine, back-stabbing politics. It’s beyond belief that Levine never asked to meet with Luisi. Insecurity, aloofness, plain rudeness?
