“Among the floats, marching bands, and gigantic balloons of Chicago’s BMO Harris Bank Magnificent Mile Lights Festival will be a horse-drawn surrey from Lyric Opera of Chicago…. [I]n the surrey will be Lyric Opera general director Anthony Freud, dressed in appropriate western garb. Freud, who hails from London, spent five years as the general director of Houston Grand Opera and is no stranger to bolo ties and 10-gallon Stetsons.”

I live two blocks from Michigan Avenue (Magnificent Mile) but usually don’t attend the Parade. I am surprised that Rennay, in her Thais costume will not be on the float with Freud.
Now if Freud were surrounded by pretty, semi-clad cowboys, I’d be there in a heartbeat. ;+) Il Fanciullo del Mid-West

Clita dear, didn’t you know? Renay will be right there next to Roy ‘Freud’ Rogers wearing her Dale Evans costume. Harumpf! Carpetbagging imposters -- neither of them could ride a bronco all the way to the corral.

Phoenix, LOL I’d to see Renay in a Trigger costume. She can be the back end.

Actually, Phoenix, I believe that as a teenager, Renee raised horses and rode in horse shows, so she might be able to pull it off. You really should read her book. :)
