The Regie Files

With almost frightening speed, floridante2k nailed our most recent Regie quiz. It was indeed Bizet’s Carmen, as reimagined for L’Opéra de Lyon by Olivier Py.

Don’t believe me? A video of the complete production follows the jump!

Caution: this video includes showgirl breasts and possibly other images unsuitable for workplace viewing.

Now that you know what Carmen looks like, perhaps you’d like to try your hand at something a bit more off the beaten path?

Remember, cher public, guesses only: if you recognize the production above, keep quiet while others play!

    Tannhauser?

Picture one looks an awful lot like a representation of the Venusberg, and I can sort of see the other two images fitting in.

By the way, that Carmen is a laugh riot. When the bare-bosomed cigarette girls came out in Act 1, I was reminded of the finale of Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life.
