Mein Ross! Sei mir gegrüsst!
“Götterdämmerung, the final installment of Lepage’s Ring, arrived in January, rounding out what must be considered a historic achievement. Pound for pound, ton for ton, it is the most witless and wasteful production in modern operatic history…. It’s an embarrassment that this catastrophically vapid spectacle is what New York has to offer to the world on the occasion of the Wagner bicentennial, which arrives next year.” [The New Yorker]
CHEAPER and MORE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This just cost 15 Euros…because Jane Eaglen held up the stage…and the only sound during the opera was when she burped…..but the Met NICHT learns NICHT
It was always spelled correctly in the magazine and in the article on the magzaine’s website. The error was in the online “Abstract” and it was subsequently corrected.
If the Met instead of pursuing circus shows, would concentrate their efforts in locating an promoting fabulous voices, the New Yorker would probably have nicer articles to write. Nobody wants to hear machine noises, the music loving crowds want to hear Nilsson voices.
Actually, this truck is three lanes wide and is hauling the boulder to a museum in Los Angeles. No public money being used and it costs a fortune for gas every mile. They can only move 10 miles a day because it’s so slow. After they are through the MET should rent it to haul away the machine forever.
“This is a truck that is hauling a Granite boulder that is 22 feet tall and weighs 340 tons. The truck will be hauling the granite boulder on a 105 mile trip from Riverside, Ca to the Los Angeles County Museum. It stopped in Cerritos, California on the hill of South Street and Palo Verde.
And if I were a unicorn, I’d fart rainbows.
