Twisted sisters

“Five women singing together: That’s an opera fan’s idea of heaven. And though Nico Muhly’s Dark Sisters doesn’t quite reach celestial heights, Wednesday’s premiere offered the promise of an exciting new composer’s voice.”  [New York Post] (Photo: Richard Termine)

The beautiful photo in the Post is of Even Gigliotti, famed not only for her voice talent, but for sliding off the machine at the MET. It’s nice to know a former Walkuere can become a mormon twisted sister.

  • Congratulations to Nico Muhly and Caitlyn Lynch. Love that shimmer.

  • Completely off topic, but worth mentioning. Just a couple of days ago we were told that opera Depot has a compilation for the 75th birthad of Dame Gwyneth, well, said compilation is now available to download for FREE.

Go at it bitches; and thanks to opera Depot for this wonderful upload!

You mean like the Maids scene in ELEKTRA that I always wanna skip?? :)

    Tony’s at his exercise:

“…the sturdy, compelling bass Kevin Burdette…”

You really gotta remove the pole that is up your butt concerning Tony T…and The New York Times, in general…your constant snippiness is beyond tiresome—and pointless.

One is entitled to one’s own opinions- and mine are pretty in step with Mr.T’s, concerning “Dark Sisters”--I REALLY wanted to like/love it…and was very much disappointed ( musically,at least…)

        brooklyn punk dear,

please do not inhibit the dea Nerva!

She, and her “Ein jedes Wort ist Falschheit!” campaign is the best thing we have got going to counter the inanities of the TT columns.

        Thank you.

Are you still in Zucotti Park?
        Regards, C.

…no…In Foley Square, listening to Joan Baez sing, right now…!!

..and..I have no real beef with Nerva, other then her ENDLESS campaign against the Times and TT ( whom, against popular sentiment-I actually find-more times then not- an interesting read ( but he can fawn, in an over-blown manner, occassionally-GRANTED!)

It’s surprising really, since I don’t believe he went to a public school in Oxfordshire.

        Caro Signor Brook[lyn]!

        The [self-righteous] phrase

“the pole that is up your butt concerning Tony T”

an item that does seem to “concern” TT , as Susanna “concerns” the Count…

        Best- NN
