The Regiecycle Diaries

Only a few scant guesses at the most recent Regie quiz, and, alas, no one got even close, though perhaps that’s because some of our strongest players disqualified themselves, having seeing this production of Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria, as directed for the English National Opera by Benedict Andrews.

Our next puzzler will be perhaps both less famliar and more thought-provoking.

[redacted] Reminder: it’s a guessing game. If you actually recognize the production, please stay quiet while others guess. – LC

The real puzzler here is how the young woman in picture 2 is able to keep her balance wearing red pumps on a steeply raked stage while wielding a bullhorn. I haven’t a clue, but kudos.

    Elektra, perhaps?

Guns, although I’ll take a gin, if someone is offering and I’m not adverse to broads eiother but am well taken care of, these days.

    This is Verdgner’s Parsifalstaff.

    1. Parsifalstaff is manhandled at Master Ford’s house.

    2. Kundry yells at Fenton and Nanetta.

    3. Kundry and Master Ford ride off into the sunset while the Merry Flowermaiden Wives tell us that the world is such a joke.

Guessing from the lady in the yellow dress, I’ll say it’s Donizetti’s “Cento e uno Dalmati.”
