Wordy for Verdi

millo_verdiIn honor of the re-release of Presenting Aprile Millo – Verdi Arias on EMI Classics, La Cieca is delighted to announce a new competition for parterre readers. Details are after the jump.

In the comments section of this posting, you are invited to write on the subject “What are the most important elements of great Verdi singing?”

You are encouraged to include specific examples and (when applicable) links to your references. At the close of the competition on midnight, Monday December 20, a panel of experts will select finalists, from which group the winning essay will be selected by The Divine Miss Millo herself.

The winning entrant will receive a copy of the EMI CD. All decisions regarding the rules and results of the competition are, as always, subject to La Cieca’s whim.
