Nighty-night

koch_bedbugOne of the buildings at Lincoln Center has become infested by a disgusting, blood-sucking parasite. And besides that, the David H. Koch Theater now has bedbugs. [AP]

UPDATE: And now, like Beverly Sills and Sam Ramey, the bedbugs have “graduated” to the theater across the plaza. [Wall Street Journal]

    La Cieca:

When you re-enact the “Everybody Dance Now” video in your apartment are you Freedom or Velma?

The man’s father and mother and brother were/are professional classical musicians. presumably Mendelssohn , Strauss and Puccini were not unknown in that household and period of study.

Alto: Here is a quote from the New Yorker article:

“The Republican campaign consultant said of the family’s political activities, “To call them under the radar is an understatement. They are underground!” Another former Koch adviser said, “They’re smart. This right-wing, redneck stuff works for them. They see this as a way to get things done without getting dirty themselves.” Rob Stein, a Democratic political strategist who has studied the conservative movement’s finances, said that the Kochs are “at the epicenter of the anti-Obama movement. But it’s not just about Obama. They would have done the same to Hillary Clinton. They did the same with Bill Clinton. They are out to destroy progressivism.”

Now, Alto, use some logic and connect that to homophobia. In general, Progressives promote gay rights. In general, people out to destroy progressivism are against gay rights. Koch supports organizations that would destroy gay rights. You can nit pick all you want about details but that is the general truth of the matter. You remind me of someone who, if he was shot by a someone because he was gay would say, “Well, he did shoot me once but I am not dead yet. Maybe he really isn’t that bad.”
