I missed seeing Thebom at the Met. Saw her as a kid at the North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly, MA in “Music in the Air”. A lot of Met folks appeared there in the 60′s/70′s Mary Curtis Verna in “Roberta” Rosalind Elias in “Bittersweet” and John Reardon in “Carousel” to name a few. Curtis-Verna and Elias were from MA, so there was a great deal of press about them in local papers. Summer theatre whetted this baby OQ’s appetite for the world of opera.
