Believe me,there is no comparison. Rufus Wainright is an idiot.
At least Terfel knows how to dress.
I’d choose Terfel if I had to do one of them. I prefer a big, ugly bear to a stupid, silly queen!
AMEN!
Right on, angeladorable. Bryn Terfel/Rufus Wainright……. chicken salad/chicken shit !!
well, but that i9s a pic of Bryn 10 years ago (it looks like it) vs. a recent pic of Rufus Trainwreck.
I would do Rufus at least for a weekend. After that, I would set him to roam free in the wilderness.
Much as i think bears are sexy, Bryn is NOT one of them in my list.
But at least he has that whole “manly posterior” thing going for him.
That he does. I bet it is covered in hair, but then again, I am willing to bet that Rufus’ is at least fuzzy.
Apologies for the totally OT post but fresh from the Associated Press:
Carreras returns to La Scala Oct. 10
MILAN — La Scala says the Spanish tenor Jose Carreras will sing at the famed Milanese opera house for the first time in 14 years for a benefit concert later this year.
La Scala said Wednesday the Oct. 10 concert is being sponsored by the European Society for Medical Oncology, which will be holding its annual meeting in Milan.
Carreras started a foundation to fight leukemia in 1988, a year after being struck by the disease. He spent 11 months in the hospital and had a marrow treatment.
Carreras last appeared at La Scala in 1996 in Giordano’s “Fedora.”
Carreras was part of the “Three Tenors,” along with Luciano Pavarotti, who died almost three years ago after battling pancreatic cancer, and Placido Domingo, who sang at La Scala in April just weeks after colon cancer surgery.
Is that a bad joke ? Carreras had no voice 15 years ago.
Make that longer. Perhaps 25?
On the other hand, I am not aware that Rufus has become notorious for not showing up for his announced performances.
A Rufus ‘performance’? JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZ!
Off topic, but I am listening to a bizarre concert from Salzburg right now. Thomas Quasthoff singing the blues, trying to sound like B.B. King.

Terfel tangent: I saw both Tosca casts at the Met this year – and I’d never heard Terfel live before – and when Terfel made his first entrance and let rip that ferocious “Un tal baccano in chiesa! Bel rispetto!” I was so titillated, sighed a big “GRAZIE DIO!!” — HIS Scarpia had me on the edge of my seat — or no, I was in standing room probably — he had me on the balls of my feet all night! – he is the BOMB. I don’t know much about Rufus Wainwright…. but that pair of pictures is kind of hilarious!
I think Terfel would make you laugh in bed.
