Regieschüssel

regie_05_01_01Well done, Jim: the opera in question was indeed Fidelio, and La Cieca has no idea what that horse is all about either. Better you should ask Benedikt von Peter, who directed it for the Komische Oper Berlin. And while you’re at it, maybe he’ll offer a guess or two what’s going on after the jump.

I’m going to guess Norma, and I’m going to guess Takesha Kizart. IN today’s NY Times, there’s a section on summer festivals and they mention Caramoor, which is doing Norma with Angela Meade and Maria Di Rohan with Ms Kizart, whom I’d never heard of. So I looked her up on Youtube and found this..

It’s either her in Pic 1, or Michelle Obama. Or I’m just wrong.

    Gail V. Gilmore in HERODIADE?

I see blood, women, and violence. It must be Greek. Since all the other options are taken, I’m going to guess “The Bassarids.”
Saw it a few years ago in Paris with June Andersen, this could fit the bil!

  • La Valkyrietta says:

I missed guessing the last one. The horse confused me but I see now it obviously is “mein engel Leonora”.

As to this one, Elektra comes to my.

The Cherubini Medea – I can’t honestly make the photos fit, but hey, this IS regie.
