The March of Regie

norma_regie_thumbOur Own Ercole Farnese exercised his sharp eye for detail almost before La Cieca got the most recent Regie quiz posted: within 25 minutes he identified the work in question as Norma. We have video of the controversial Peter Mussbach staging after the jump.

And now, back to our game. What’s the opera presented here, cher public?

Even without Peter Ustinov – could this be Nerone? Boito’s or Mascagni’s

I am going to say either Un Ballo in Maschera or Il Trovatore.

If this is Clemenza, then this shouldn’t qualify for the Regie quiz. But it’s beautiful!

I vote Carmen. Just to be unique.

    1. 1st act: the square with the soldiers, the cigarette factory below.
    2. ‘Je dis…’
    3. ‘Les voici!!!!!!’
