Thanks. I bought this blu-ray a couple of weeks ago and couldn't agree more. Nizza doesn't have the prettiest voice in the world but she knows how to use it. Her high notes are so secure. I was speaking with a friend of mine about her after we saw the Met Trittico and he told me yes, she's good but not a Met voice. If Racette sings this at the Met, then I guess Nizza could as well. Nizza's Angelica is a tour de force. The voice isn't pretty or distinctive, but she knows what to do with it, and there was a bitterness in Angelica that pre-empted any saccharine from slipping in (though it would still be a tear-jerker). Schicchi is overly grotesque and doesn't really work -- but I am not a fan of the piece (romantic moments aside), cleverly put together though it is.
