Chi è quella regie bionda lassù?
As anotherjj was quick to deduce, the lady in the kitchenette was indeed Cio-Cio-San. La Cieca will note in passing that she searched through perhaps three dozen productions of Madama Butterfly until she could find one that didn’t immediately give the game away. No matter where one goes, the Japanese Tragedy is going to feature kimonos and cherry blossoms.
And speaking of kimonos…

Hoffmanns Erzählungen?
1. In Luther’s Tavern
2. Antonia – Elle a fui, la torturelle
3. some version of a Final Scene with Muse
ha lol – i meant tourterelle
Depends who’s singing it, I guess!
Whatever it is, it looks a total car crash …
Turandot?
whatever it is it looks interesting.
Since La Cieca speaks of kimonos, could this be Mascagni’s Iris?
It’s either “Arabella” or “La fanciulla del west.”
Jonny Spielt Auf!
I saw Jonny spielt auf once — in about 1985 — but have never heard of a revival since. Does anyone stage it anymore?
The Wiener Staatsoper did a Regie production a few years ago (maybe 2003 or 2004 ??) – if memory serves, Bo Skovhus and Ildiko Raimondi were in it.
That is [redacted] in the second picture so perhaps [redacted] is right and it is [redacted] since she just is singing it now in [redacted]. Too bad she isn’t available for the [redacted] next [redacted]. They are stuck with [redacted].
Feldmarschallin, you’ve done this before … thanks for the clue.
clearly, Madame La Marechal is clue-less since she gave them all away.
It must be Adriana Lecouvreur. The big MGM Lion in the 3rd picture makes me think that someone’s an actress.
La Fanciulla del West
Freischuetz!
