Silly people, it’s Mary Zimmerman.Money is tight.Carmen will now be performed on the set of “From the House of the Dead”, Act 1 in the barracks. The debris that falls will hit in Act IV as Escamillo scores a hit in the arena. Carmen will die but the eagle will fly.
Now that they have exhausted themselves butchering Hoffmann, one can look forward to the rest of the season and hope all goes well.

Dr. Miller must perforce stage THE NOSE in sensible 1940s costumes, set in Peterborough ( helpfully, a cathedral city as the libretto requires) so some nice Cambridge local colour (age 18-22) can be worked in.
Bring back the Zefirelli Tosca because the Rheingold is too big
