Kitchen sink regie

regie_11_29_02Smartly done, Jim, for last week’s quiz was indeed “Lear, with the little dogs taken literally.”

This was the Reimann opera, as performed at the Komische Oper in a production by Hans Neuenfels.

Moving on, then. What’s this blonde’s problem?

  • Could this be Seraglio? It could also be Louise, given the scenes of domestic life.

  • rysanekfreak says:

    Verdi’s Macbeth !

    1. The first act duet between Mr. and Mrs. Macbeth.

    2. La luce langue

    3. The Sleepwalking Scene with Macbeth lurking in the background.

  • Zerbinetta says:

    Onegin?

  • MontyNostry says:

Frau ohne Schatten. Blonde is the Faerberin.

  • jim says:

Yea! I got one. Was the bulldog Sweet-heart?

    This one is Traviata:

    1. The duet with Germont pere
    2. L’uomo implacabil
    3. Alfredo spurns her.

    URTEXT REGIEOPER!

    Parsifal

1.”Kundry ist sogleich, als sie Parsifals Zustand gewahrt, nach einem Waldquell geeilt, bringt jetzt Wasser in einem Horne, besprengt damit zunächst Parsifal und reicht ihm dann zu trinken”
    2. “nekromantische Vorrichtungen”
    3. “sanft ansteigender Blumenaue”

  • Quanto Painy Fakor says:

    Clearly, it’s Russalka.

  • Valmont says:

    This has to be Nozze.

    1) The Count and Countess, act 2

    2) Dove sono

    3) The finale in the garden, with Susanna all dolled up as the Countess in the back, Figaro to her right, and the Countess as Susanna avoiding the Count’s rather vigorous advances as seen by his posture.

I also really want to say it’s Fidelio, but who would feature Marzelline in their press promos?

    • brett says:

Yeah, that’s exactly what it looks like to me, too. Nozze, I mean.

      Which means it’s probably Elektra.

  • Loge says:

    The Consul?
    1. Talking to the police commissioner
    2. An oven to stick her head in
    3. The last dream sequence.
