It's magnificent, and still available, I believe. It was done on 78s but the sound was really excellent, and the remaster competes with the better recordings to come out of the 1940s. Great singing, too. Placed in an isolation booth with headphones, his voice then played back on 20 loudspeakers into a large empty ballroom of the then existing Sofiensaal, picked up again by microphone at the other end, and then remixed into the orchestral fabric on the sound mixing desks.
