  Old news! That show aired in the UK years ago — and no doubt in the US too.

  I love this intro from the coverage:

  “CONSIDERED by many the consummate modern-day opera diva, Renee Fleming has up until now let her magnificent singing voice say what she wants to say and has shunned the film biographers.”

  Renee HATES publicity, after all. Still, the film dates from the beginning of her ’superstar next door’ era, so it was clearly part of the greater strategy.

  This is old. It’s about time for a new Fleming documentary. They need to follow her around for an entire year and film everything (well…a LOT), just to show how hard she works. It would probably be too expensive because she’s ALWAYS on the move so they re-released this old DVD.

    It doesn’t matter how hard she works. It’s the end result that matters. She works too hard at her ‘interpretations’, that’s for sure.

  What we really need is a DVD about the life of Juan Diego Florez. That would really be interesting. From skinny kid in Lima Peru to world’s #1 light lyric tenor. He can be funny too.

  At last we find out that our gracious hostess and Renee have something in common….they both always feel Renee could do better.
