White boys can’t waltz
… but these boys’ (and girls’) hearts are in the right place as they join with Wenarto to celebrate the apparent victory of Referendum 71 in Washington.

They’re not waltzing in Maine, that’s for sure. Well, maybe the homophobes are kicking up their heels but those of us who care about fundamental rights for gay men and women are donning sackcloth and ashes.
don’t worry guys, I mean, people in maine are craaaaazzzzyyyyyy
How adorable and somehow nostalgic at the same time. Congratulations on the passage of your domestic partner bill. Really sad about Maine though. A repeat of our own Prop 8 here in California.
Guys: Maine can’t hold out long. The lies told by the opposition showed desperation on their part:

Wenarto and La Cieca: Thanks so much for that post. It’s a very nice thing to come out of a very mixed Election Day.
I live in California and we all know what happened here. I don’t think this kind of thing will ever have an impact on me because I’m not the marrying kind, but for the people who care about it, it’s kind of sad.
Maybe we should all go to Maine and have a kiss-in in front of their largest opera house.
Wenarto on the big screen at last! Well-deserved. I wonder how one gets on the A list to his parties.
i don’t want to get into the realm of the political on this site, but hopefully we’re not gauging gay rights by marriage. It is not THE main issue for our rights…there is no single one issue and the fact that this has received all the attention (and funding) is disturbing (and a tad bit disgusting) when these same people are absent from almost every other gay rights issue.
but the defeat of the Maine legislation is saddening.
omg reallyz?
