For those who may be interested, one hears Miss Graham sings her first Marschallin in Houston, season 2011. Wonder how that will go?
Mezzos of the past have done well in the part — Frau Ludwig; Helen Vanni in San Francisco was well received …. anyone know other mezzo Marschallins?
I had no idea Susan was going to sing the Marschallin. I hope it goes well for her. The Marschallin isn’t a long a role as Octavian so it should be easier for her.
