Which diva has been dicking around the presenters of that gala by refusing to decide on a single thing: what she’ll sing, whom she’ll sing with, or even whether she’ll sing at all?
Angela Gheorghiu isn’t listed on the website so it’s probably Anna Netrebko. If it’s Anna Netrebko I hope they just drop her and invite Renee Fleming because I’d much rather see Renee, a Tucker Award winner, than Netrebko who really has no business there.
Millo is in recital; not a gala. her blog reports the artists singing and playing with her, been up for some time. hardly think she is arguing with herself about who and what to do on her own recital. gala’s are generally exclusive to Tucker Nights. who else does them?
If the blind item is regarding the Tucker Gala
and we are to take “diva” as being a female, then it is one of the women listed for the gala
on the Tucker Foundation website.
They are:
Stephanie Blythe
Elina Garanca
Susan Graham
Maria Guleghina
Hei-Kyung Hong
Anna Netrebko
Six ladies, take your pick of the one who is
dicking around.
If we are off on the clue, the other gala in the works is the opening night of NYCO, and I’d guess the diva there is Flanigan.
Sounds like Lauren Flanigan.
Angela Gheorghiu,I think. We adore her anyway.
If it’s who I think you mean, when I spoke to her in May, she had the whole program mapped out.
“Dick” suggests the Richard Tucker gala
I’ll vote Anna Netrebko.

Aprile?
“When I talked to her in May …” Oh, lord. Name dropping in a blind item? Isn’t that sort of like blowing smoke up your own …. ?
Please don’t start signing your posts “Madame de Peferol de Lafayette.”
This has Gheorghiu written all over it…
rysanekfreak – nice observation
I’m going with Gheorghiu tho
…Stephen Costello..?
Tyne Daly’s La mamma morta is worth waiting for!
But it’s her brother I want!
I’m guessing it’s Aprile
Totally OT: DiDonato is in fine voice tonight.
Did anyone else notice something funny in the Met’s database about tonight’s performance?
Link to it here, just in case they take it down:

Was it Borodina?
#17… I didn’t realize that Tilda Swinton sang opera

i vote for Gheorghiu
i dont’ understand, what upcoming gala is gheorghiu singing in? why is everyone voting for her when there are many more logical choices?
Does this mean that Gheorghiu ranks third most bashed diva on this site?
Speaking of Flanagan….
Wasn’t ANYONE here from the West Coast, at the Opening of “Seanceona Wet Afternoon”, in Santa Barbara…??
I’m dying to hear how it went…..
What, Netrebko can’t decide which work she can sing most on pitch or most off pitch?
