Harry #28 cannot imagine how many previous operas Rufus W. stores on his hard dics. In any case the bedroom farce masterpiece is “Lorna Donna” -the name had to be changed after legal action was taken by the Kraft Foods Co.

  • Dubist Derlenz says:

What a charming staging! I think this might be a production of “La Traviata”.

I’m gonna say FroSch, and I don’t know quite why.

It’s got to be the correct answer……eventually.

Are the two clowns in the first picture men? Dressed in grandmother flowerprint skirts?

Anyway, how about Magic Flute. Dinosaur == dragon?

This is the fugliest travesty I’ve seen to date.

Is it Trouble in Tahiti? This could be somebody’s horribly deranged idea of the Fifties?

  • neeleycharles says:

    Oh, it’s Louise.

Piece of cake: RIDERS TO THE SEA.

Speaking of Rufus (well, somebody was) the Times review of the premiere of Prima Donna is a series of pulled punches by everybody’s favorite critic to punch–but the fact is that it seems not to be a success.

  • WeillFan says:

How about Britten’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”? The top shot could be Tatania, Puck and Oberon. The middle shot could be the “Pyramus and Thisbe” performance in front of the mocking nobility. The final shot could be of the lovers lost in the suburban mall that is supposed to be the Athenian wood.

    I see a bottle, and so I’ll guess L’Elisir d’Amore.
