Are we all aware that Pina Bausch as a young dancer performed in ALCESTE and TANNHAEUSER at the Met? Note also the lead casting that no intendant in her/his wildest dreams could hope to assemble today.

Mildred Allen – now that’s a blast from the past. I saw her around 1968 in NZ doing Margerette in “Faust” – she winced every time she took a high note but the sound wasn’t too bad. Haven’t heard anything about her since.
