more trouble

La Cieca is sorry, sorry, sorry about the downtime on parterre.com. The hosting company blames wordpress, and wordpress blames the host, and La Cieca is very rattled right now. If you can hook La Cieca up with someone who knows about PHP and SQL databases, please email her at lacieca@parterre.com .

Thanks, folks.

Welcome back: and the site is looking great – like the new opera house wallpaper.

does the site keep shutting down because of the ongoing renovations, or are they separate issues? Seems to me one ought to be able to redesign the site offline and then post the new look all at once. Anyway…
The numbers seem to have migrated back to the right side of the column again—not the place one logically looks for them, to my way of thinking. I also liked the way the indentation around the number looked when it was to the left, although it would have balanced better if restricted to 3 lines indented instead of four. The only other thing that really bothers me is the loss of all the illustrations after the most recent post. They really should stay available all the way to the bottom of the page, only disappearing when moved to “older posts.”

Thanks for the shading–I think it’s a great solution to the snow-blindness problem. I love the Golden Horseshoe borders as well. And thanks for your generosity in soliciting and listening to the opinions of our cantankerous crew!

The numbers look better on the right side, because the indentations on the left side looked awkward and ugly.

Yeah! Word Press finally recognized by login information.
Cookies will be served in celebration. I hope this actually posts and that the divine Cieca will see her way to new heights in this incarnation of Parterre.

Does the reappearance of the old-style “Leave a Reply” process (with no membership login required) mean that Madame has abandoned this particular restriction; or was this one of the glitch sources; or is the reversion an error? Neither method is the least bit arduous for me — I’m just curious.

I love the he-said she-said finger-pointing between WordPress and whoever is hosting the site. It’s *so* professional, don’t you know.

Is the source for the opera boxes graphic La Fenice? Looks like it to me.

Love the opera house borders. Very psychedelic if you scroll too fast. Welcome back on the scene Madame

This lurker is glad you’re back up in any incarnation. I’m getting DTs from all of the down time.
