Earlier today Opera Chic reported on a still fairly vague rumor that Anna Netrebko is pregnant again. Here in New York the information is also pretty vague, but La Cieca has heard that Erwin Schrott (currently in Naples) is spilling spilled beans as proud papas will do.
Whispers in New York indicate that the Met is on alert that Anna may not be available for the December-January Contes d’Hoffmann or even for the March revival of La boheme. The reasoning here is that Netrebko and some of the public believed the first Babypause wasn’t quite long enough, so the second time around she would take her time returning to the stage.Â
At the moment, La Cieca is going to call this one “speculation,” though the following photo from taken last night at a concert in Braunschweig) reveals that Netrebko remains on the plump side.
Wow that was quick. If she is pregnant she probably wants to get it over with soon & she is in her 30′s so no time wasting. If it’s true congratulations!

These Russian girls always plump up after the first one and never get rid of it. Look at Borodina – or Catherine the Great. (Who was German, but never mind.)
I suppose on the dough she was earning, she can afford to be a stay at home Mum and send her ‘old man’ out to bring home the money.

I need new glasses. When the story first opened on my screen I read that La Cieca was pregnant. (Whoa, there! did I miss something!) On I second glance I thought that it was Opera Chic who was with child. Only on a third, close and sober reading, did I get that it was Trebbers who was preggers..
Who cares.
