I’m not terribly famililar with Stignani (only have a late-career Adalgisa from her) but I ruled her out for the first clip. At first I thought it sounded like her, but then I thought that her phrasing wasn’t refined enough.
Number two does sound an awful lot like Cossotto (especially the vowels) but I’m not 100% convinced, espcially the high note.
Number three does not sound beautiful enough to be Blythe.
What I find that all three clips have in common is the personality in the singing. Neither clip is really polished, IMO, but each singer sings with real intent.
I think #2 is Cossotto. #1 sounds remarkably like late Milanov (though I’m sure this can’t be–but the register breaks are similar).
You know? Even though I said one of these singers was Mignon Dunn, I am having 2nd thoughts.
I think Stignani is in one of these clips, just not sure which one.
No. 11 for a moment gave me almost a Podles feeling, but the register breaks are incredibly ugly and the singing uncharacteristically unrefined; after I compared the excerpt here with the one on YouTube, I ruled her out.
I am not sure Stephanie Blythe is in here either.
No. 11 sounds bizarrely like a countertenor to me.
