If Wenarto, members of Cirque du Soleil and Rolando Villazón got really really high one night, this might be the result.

(In fact, this music video stars Serge Desrosiers and was directed by Sandrine Béchade.)
First the financial meltdown and now this! Will the horror never end?!
I agree with LVPO. What purpose does this serve? More opera as pop music?
If you’re in search of good chazzanut, find the video “A Cantor’s Tale” (as opposed to Feyvel story) about Jack Mendelson, who’s probably the last of a breed. Brooklynpunk, you’ll love it. Lots of good singing, a travelogue of Brooklyn and a cast of genuine characters.
Shana tovah.
To segue this Chita Rivera should have flown in as The Spider Woman and just eat him (although the pretentiousness could have given her indigestion).
Donna Anna(#13)
Thanks!–I have seen that documentary, and it is very sweet…My Grandfather was a chazzan , in Leeds and Manchester England (they do exist, even there, Thackary…!!) and I sort of started my love of the singing voice from his traditions…)
BTW–Your name reminds me that the ROH/Covent Garden is presenting the current production of “Don Giovanni”– video/audio,on-line–complete–FOR FREE!! (They will continue with a number of other works , as the season progresses—ad will be making a number of their archived holdings availible , as well…)
..L’Shana Tovah…!!
I’ve seen this kind of thing before. Last time the cat got tangled in the draperies.
All I can say is send out the laundry. It’s sounds like more then three sheets….. OK Ok I think it was silly. Why this bad singing strung up by the sheets?
One of the problems with Tosca is the fast recovery of Mario from being tortured, but this being wrapped in sheets (is he in the Rome police infirmary?) looking like Christ on the Cross is like you know very too much.
I really enjoyed it, and it makes me think that Opera can still have a futur when I see these nice new “mise en scene” and not just the simply conventional way.
The voice is not perfect but it touches me…
Anyway just my 5 cents
