What other singers have had perfumes/colognes created for them?
“Geraldine Farrar, a Met star in the early 20th century, bottled her own mystique and sold a perfume that claimed to be a ‘sublimation of the olfactory sensations’ inspired by her voice.”

What about desserts for divas like Peach Melba?
Can recall somebody whipping up something for Renee
Sauce Hollandaise in recognition of an overparted Senta
And of course Cherry Strudel
There was Caruso Spaggetti back in c. 1908, and I assume that once in France there must have been a scent named for Mistinguett. And we cannot forget Mrs. Molotov’s perfume Red Moscow, which Stalin liked the smell of.
Tetrazini had her Chicken. Patti had her Cow. There was once a cocktail invented for Rise Stevens(I found it in an old Esquire Bar Book I misplaced) And there was the Bada Bing lounge in NJ, named for R. Bing and that old Met stalwart Angelo Bada.
Christine Brewer suggested not long ago that she would like to have a fine food named for her, as in Peach Melba.
After a moment’s thought I suggested,
Baked Alaska Brewer. That did not go over so well.
BUT – I wonder if this talented troupe would care to make some suggestions for Christine. Her heroine Helen Traubel has a rose named for her, but that is very hard to get done.
Ta for now.
I’m down to Price Rice, Pears Peter, and Salome Head Cheese in the way of puns at the bottom of this page. I suppose one could add Gre Tea.
Brewer’s Yeast… duh!
Letterman is right now talking to Paris Hilton, who is huckstering her new scent, “Fairy Dust.” I don’t know what to comment on this info bit. As Little Richard said, “Help me, somebody help me!”
if the Netrebko family went to a game to see the Milwaukee Brewers they could take along a sack full of Tater Schrotts and some Schrottz Beer or a 6 pack of Wilhelm Pitz Schlitz.
The last time I went to Off Broadway to the regie version of Mime Mia(a disco Ring) I took a pocketful of sour candies, Tucker Puckers,(couldn’t find any Jussi Juicies,) and carried a sandwich of Leonie baloney on Melba toast.
