la fille du regie

La Cieca can’t put anything past Tamerlano, who guessed the answer to our previous Regie quiz almost immediately: it was indeed Ariadne auf Naxos.

And now, with a reminder to all that this is a guessing game, no blurting out the answers if you recognize the production, here’s out next quiz (right after the jump):

I think it’s probably Norma too, but most likely directed by Hanna Barbera.

  • LVPO says:

Oh but it’s obvious! STARLIGHT EXPRESS, of course:
Pearl joins the race (the other rolling stocks behind her) then Pearl with Dinah the Dining Car then Pearl with Elektra or possibly Diesel Engine.
It just leaps out at you. Non?…
    Where is Rusty though???…!

  • PushedUpMezzo says:

Love the idea of Merry Widow

Though of course there’s not a smile between them

Might it possibly be Butterfly (entrance, duet with Suzuki, love duet)?

  • It’s clearly a regie that COULD be any one of a hundred shows (discounting the witty non-starters) – La Cieca, have you EVER had so many diverse guesses? Time to put us out of our curiosity – or maybe you’re just enjoying this one too much.

  • soriano says:

la figlia del re-egitto – aida?

(there is a kind of duet at the end…)

  • soriano says:

oh, I only notice now that the two girls in picture 2 are holding something in their hand.
could be Liebestrank/Todestrank, but someone suggested T&I already, so I’ll try “le stille del veleno”:

    1. o mio babbino caro
    2. suor angelica ha sempre una ricetta buona
    3. il fiammifero accesso

    (with a lot of imagination)
