Opera Chic is a drag queen?? Really???
I could have done this if they had called me.
I have heard Shequida live many times and believe you me this is not her best vocal moment. (Real name: Gary Hall). Frankly, Gary isn’t sounding good here – the choice of material is unfortunate and the tempo and key are doing nothing for the voice. I have heard Shequida do lieder by Joseph Marx and bat it out of the park without a mike. This just sounds phony and the whole concept of singing a duet with himself in his natural and falsetto voice isn’t working. Something is missing in the presentation and Shequida knows it isn’t working.
Shequida does best when he/she presents the song straightforwardly surprising the audience with a beautiful serious performance.

If I remember correctly Shequida studied at Julliard before becoming a drag queen. I wish she would’ve just sang using her real voice.
The wrong fach, yes, but as long as Denyce Graves gets hired anywhere on this planet I see absolutely nothing wrong with this clip.
