As a straight guy, I have no problem with drug queens as long as they’re consistent with their vocal range. As matter of fact, some drag queen are classy even if they don’t sing: opera chic anyone?
Is it a blessing there is no sound when I play it? I believe he/she/it did a Brittany imitation in the next round of America’s Got Talent (and God am I ashamed that I know this…).
I have heard Shequida live many times and believe you me this is not her best vocal moment. (Real name: Gary Hall). Frankly, Gary isn’t sounding good here – the choice of material is unfortunate and the tempo and key are doing nothing for the voice. I have heard Shequida do lieder by Joseph Marx and bat it out of the park without a mike. This just sounds phony and the whole concept of singing a duet with himself in his natural and falsetto voice isn’t working. Something is missing in the presentation and Shequida knows it isn’t working.
Shequida does best when he/she presents the song straightforwardly surprising the audience with a beautiful serious performance.
How lucky to be able to sing (after a fashion) both parts.
What’s frightening, for me, is that this is the second time in two days that I’ve heard, read or otherwise been exposed to reference to Paul Potts. I can only hope this doesn’t become a trend.
What about straight American women? Do we fear drag queens? For my part, I don’t fear them, I just get depressed by the fact that they always look more glamorous than I ever could, no matter how hard I tried. But in true female nature, I feel that way about tall gorgeous, glamorous, estrogen-filled, born-that-way women too.
WHATS THE PROBLEM???
She looks and sounds better than you know who… maybe she just dont smell good? (In due time).
I love love love Shequida. Now did she really think they were gonna go for her on that show? But my GOD she looks FABULOUS!!!
Who was the big guy in the wings?
Drag queens still scare straight Americans despite RuPaul’s work.
The big guy in the wings is a self-taught, self-styled “opera singer” who makes Paul Potts seem like Gigli in comparison.
And who is Paul Potts? Count your blessings if you don’t know, but check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLF9iEXnBRo if you must.
And here are the results of the Dutch jury: United States: twelve points – Etats unies douze points!
Cieca, darling. Go easy on the tanning & bronzers! It’s all about the ‘natural’ look this season!
I got the tune, but what were the words? What language even?

x-nay on the above #ine-nay. I’m wrong on all counts.
Opera Chic is a drag queen?? Really???
I could have done this if they had called me.

Gualtier: or else doing an impression of Jessye Norman singing the theme from Star Trek…
Now that I would pay to see…

If I remember correctly Shequida studied at Julliard before becoming a drag queen. I wish she would’ve just sang using her real voice.
The wrong fach, yes, but as long as Denyce Graves gets hired anywhere on this planet I see absolutely nothing wrong with this clip.
Seriously?
Someone used a ‘he/she/it’ slur?
Jeez.
