When there are corrections, the Times doesn’t usually feel obliged to explain WHY the errors were made in the first place. His CONFUSION over his NOTES? I mean, I know it’s dark in that concert hall, but PLEASE
And even when they correct it it’s wrong. The name of the duet is “Mira, d’acerbe lagrime”, with di acerbe as a contraction.
The sad thing is….it isn’t even dark.
Now I’m really looking forward to the next reviews. Renayy & JDF in the second Act of Tristan! Miss Voigt singing Zerbinetta! Nebs & Schrott singing the famous, uhm, quintet in the Lucia fountain scene. Eva Podles singing Sieglinde’s Liebestod at the end of Goetterdaemmerung (I’m sure she could…)

Dark or not, no one who knows anything about what he’s reviewing could be THAT confused. Presumably he actually wrote the review in the light of day (or fluorescent tubes). Maybe he dictated the review by phone back to the copy desk, and Jimmy Olsen got it wrong. I’m just sayin’….

Wait wait wait. I’m totally confused, not having been there myself. Is this correction also wrong? Wasn’t the misidentified singer Aprile Millo? I thought the reviewer was calling Millo Zajick… I’m totally confused. Help.
