regie run riot
This has to be the strangest staging of a Puccini opera ever!

Ah, La Cieca must have her little joke! But seriously, cher public, the previous Regiequiz depicted (as so many of you divined) Parsifal.
But wait! If this is Parsifal. . .

. . . then surely this must be Parsifal as well, right?

Or, if not . . .
Another trashy Monteverdi ORFEO starring Michael Slattery?
If Puccini were alive, he would never have allowed Tosca to be used as background music for acrobatics. On the other hand, acrobatics could be better subsitutes than some Toscas I’ve seen on stage!
Tom Rakewell in the Bawdy House.
The Rake’s Progress with Toby Spence…
This is The Rake’s Progress with Toby Spence as Truelove. Look’s perfectly acceptable to me as does the above Parsifal – both from the Paris Opera…
Truelove – apologies; I obviously have other things on my mind – Spence is of course Tom Rakewell. Doh!
Faust anyone?
I’ve watched the clip, it’s clearly destined for Tosca – ON ICE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was going to come on and teasingly tease that I knew what it was, then I realised that other people had already spilled the beans…to keep this game being fun you’re gonna have to really spell out in words of one syllable that the fun is in the wild guesses not in being the first smartarse who has already seen the photo on another blog.
The first looks like a ‘row’ broke out at a fashion show….the second, the ‘wonders’ a costuming designer commes up with…..buying a box of nylon fun wigs at $1 a pop in the reject box of an opportunity shop. God, those ‘gals’ look like a heap of ‘drag’.
