Calixo Bieito? Over! Peter Konwitschny?  Yesterday’s news! And David McVicar? Head for the showers! The new home of cutting-edge Regie is in little Seattle, my god, and who could have devised so utterly innovative and openly homoerotic take on Salome? Our Own Wenarto, of course!

You know, his passion for opera is definatly to be admired!!! I love listening to highnotes to death, but don’t have time and energy to get that creative like he does. I really love that Wenarto goes to such effort to recreate/create something that he clearly loves. I wish more people in today’s world would do the same in some way.

Please keep us updated……..by they way,,,,,,, doesn’t he deserve a whole youtube interview life biopic? I can see him in the director’s chair with the scarf and glasses with the backdrop (done on notebook paper to continue in the tradition of his consistant budget limitations) of some major opera house drawn in crayon or pen. Cut-a-ways to highlights from his singing/directing career with his immolation scene and of course our favorite shirtless tenor!

I am such a fan……….. keep making videos

Madame LC please keep us updated!

    Love ya bunches,

    Drew

The boy definately doesn’t have rhythem – but I predict great things for Wenarto in the Regie scene. Particularly if he keeps the one name only thing going – very trendy.

Chacowhacko, you say “bottom” like its a bad thing. Some of my best friends are bottoms! In fact, I don’t know what I would do with myself without them!!! Please be more careful with your phrasing!!

  • chacowhacko says:

Oh M. Malde, fear not; I was not making a value judgment at all. If it were not for bottoms….why…well, I cannot imagine such a dystopia!

    Check out his “
    E lucevan le Stelle
“, complete with three muscled, writhing, shirtless men, a key change and an ornate faux gold crucifix. It’s simply priceless!

Well, more homo giggle giggle than erotic in any sense.

  • Astrid Varnay may have resembled Divine in the Friedrich Elektra, but her Herodias in the Friedrich film of Salome always reminded me of Mrs Slocombe in “Are you being served” – sorry, it’s a British reference.

Re: E lucevan le stelle. Dolci mani indeed.

Kekszakallu – Mrs. Slocombe and AYBS are well known to some of us on this side of the Atlantic. “My pussy is like a burglar alarm – at the first sign of an intruder its fur stands on end!”
