Nozze!

It looks as if those whispers about a romance between two of opera’s most charismatic stars have been correct all along. La Cieca has just heard from a generally reliable source that Anna Netrebko and Erwin Schrott are now “officially engaged” and will set a wedding date “within the year.”

What is the nature of Dmitri’s and Anna’s destiny?

  • sugarmezzo says:

Oh, I don’t know anything about Dmitri and Anna’s destiny, per se, I just think it would seem like a fairy tale for them each to have children who end up being, let’s say, a famous tenor and a famous soprano, who work together all the time, and marry, and… wouldn’t that just SEEM like destiny or something??? Maybe I just need to read a sleazy romance novel and get it out of my system.

Anyway, I don’t know Anna, and I don’t know Erwin very well, but my experience with him makes me feel that he’s a great guy, and I am very happy for them.

  • Regina delle fate says:

In London recently, Trebsie looked a bit pregnant already and Schrottie was on her arm at a Universal records function, according to my spies!

  • Gianni says:

It’s more likely that she will have Dmitri’s son in a sordid affair that happens right beneath the eyes of the handsome Mr. Schrott.

  • Josephine says:

    Gianni

    why do you say that?

  • muta says:

Because Gianni is what we call a “Negative Nancy”. = )

  • Constantine A. Papas says:

Netrebko has a “thing” for bass-baritones. Her last beau was Simone Alberghini, another b-b, who’s on the cast of the current production of Cyrano de Bergerac at La Scala. The best of luck to both of them.

  • Bardolpho says:

I’ve heard from a farely reliable source, that Schrott is Bi. Any thoughts? Confirmation? Denial?

  • Erstegeiger says:

Bardolpho I am sure we could get some people willing to test the veracity of those “bi” rumors. ;)

  • spiderman says:
