Thais is more concise?! It's three plus hours of nonsense about an Egyptian whore and a religious fanatic (who's probably really gay).

Are you serious JATM?

You are detecting defective Musikwissenschaft where in fact there was divine comedy?

Noël Coward also habitually addressed all his acquaintance as "cunt" (without the cedilla). Would you have flagged that as an imprecise gynecological observation?

Well I'll tell you experts something, Noel Coward is the only person I knew of who had the wit to attend a Zinka Milanov perf. of Santuzza and pronounced that she was "hilarious" in the role. I am certain he was right, but only he said it. Ha ha ha!

I heard Zinka was hilarious even she was not onstage. She and her husband just laughed and laughed and laughed...but of course they were both naked at the time.

Is it me, or does Margaret Leighton sound just like Anna Russell. As wit goes, I don't think this was as funny as either Anna Russell or Ogden Nash.
