Hunk 10, Tenor 3

A gifted amateur by the name of Izzy Anderson takes on Verdi's Duke of Mantua.

Mr. Anderson is one of the regulars on the must-see Wenarto YouTube site. (That's the celebrated Wenarto himself conducting this selection, though usually he is found center stage.)

OK, we now know the Duke's(really King Francis I) first name was Izzy. Is this what he sang to Gilda in the palace bedroom?

Just watch, he'll be singing Normanno-- with one performance as Arturo-- at the Met next season.

Then... he was really singing? By the way, I've heard things like that in opera theaters, so I supose we could give him a chance... if he improves his Italian.

Yes, yes: I should improve my english, too.

A little less confident, but the visual is just as enjoyable.

He scats the cadenza at the end of this version!

WE NEED MORE OF HIM ON THIS SITE! Perhaps Salome?............Or Some of Rosenkavelier (the all male version)?............

I would be happy to work with him on his support, diction and help him access those ellusive high notes so he can move up to the real key.

I am nice that way!

Best,

Erstegeiger

P.S. Check out the Immolation scene of wenarto who posted those vids to youtube FANTASTIC PRODUCTION VALUE and TRUE COMMITMENT!

One thing I have to say, I love the butch guy in a sarong look. Kind of Nick Lachey meets Dorothy Lamour with a dash of Russell Watson on the side.

I need to know more about this Izzy Anderson, much, much more.

Thank you, Cieca for alerting us to this appetizing new talent in the operatic firmament.

I'd be happy to give him some very personal voice & stage movement lessons. With special attention, uhm, to opening up the top of his voice

Well, it's a shame that Eleanor Steber is dead, because instead of her live at the continental baths, we have the baths live for her. He's kinda cute in a fratboy sort of way. But he reminds me of two previous threads. The one where we discussed whether or not sucking dick was good for the throat - I volunteer for him to practice one. And of course...wait for it.... "Penetrating Wagner's Ring".

Y'all really must peruse his other youtube deposits and look especially for this rendition of "E lucevan le stelle." I am not exactly certain what is transpiring between Maestro Wenarto and his shirtless henchmen, but it looks to be a rather fun way to spend Saturday afternoon at the frat house.

I agree with LC that he's a gifted amateur. His six pack and pecs are particularly gifted.

I don't know about the singing but he's cute as hell. He could be a big star. Heck, Netbreko doesn't sing any better than that and she and her breasts are big stars, too. His abs and pecs certainly match her tits.

Forget the abs and the singing. That goofy smile is the nicest thing I've seen on the internets in ages.

I stand corrected. His smile is even more gifted than his pecs or abs. But I really do think that he should sing more Mozart at this stage of his career. ;-)

He's just as good as Stephen Costello, dontcha think? And I understood every word, which proves (as I've always stated) that I am entirely fluent in Bad Italian. Really Bad Italian.

Of course, this a joke! Someone volunteered to help him with what, and what for? He defintely sings better than Netrebko, but she makes big bucks enough to bribe all the London critics. He'll never see a penny, not even a counterfit!

James Valenti sang Alfredo in Toronto. He has a good voice -- warm though thin at the very top -- but he's not great and sings with little subtlety. His striking looks will get him roles.

The news about Heath Ledger is so sad and shocking. I think he was magnificent in Brokeback and few film characters have had an impact on me like Ennis Del Mar. That charcter will probably become even more iconic with his tragic death.

Okay, Sanford, I watched James Valenti and listened to an aria or two. Hot, NO. Tall, yes, and he's stolen the open shirt off Mariusz Kwiecien's, er, front. And he sings better than Izzy. Decent provincial (think: possibly El Paso, not Dallas or Houston yet) tenor.

But hot? No.
