Fatal sdegno

If, through some miracle of recombinant DNA manipulation, Madame Vera Galupe-Borszkh and Maria Montez were to have a child together, La Cieca is certain this is how she (or he, for that matter) would turn out.

Nerve recking indeed. Was this a private show in a rented hall? There were no more than a dozen people, judging from the applause!

How fascinating to hear "Rose's Turn" sung in Italian! The idea to set Gypsy in a circus tent is indeed compelling...

Love the male chorus! They look like something out of a Monty Python skit.

Oh my god, I think I am in love!!! What will I tell poor Maria (Gh.)?

BTW: a little internet manipulation revealed that this is Ofelia Hristova (I had to know her name) and she has her little Youtube franchise going with private videos of every performance she has ever given!!! There are like five versions of this scene!

The heels! The Babylonian high heels! SOOOOO authentic! Love them! The fringe is all good, and the coiffure. Was she singing? Didn't notice.

She reminds me of a Salome I saw in the early 90s in Budapest. Oh, and Scarlett wants her curtains back.

You know, that wasn't so bad. Hard to look at sure, but not so bad.

This sheila's a hoot! We need her down here. Qantas needs someone to kick start the jumbo jets on a cold morning.

The lady cannot be a child of Maria Montez; she doesn't look a thing like Sabu or Jon Hall.

I think this is the Warsaw production. Just this last April I heard Elena Baramova, who was about equally horrific. Some things are just unforgettable!

dear anonymous,

speaking of the Elenas, have you heard E. Pankratova? there's some clips on youtube of her Abigaille and it sounds very exciting.

Elena Baramova and Ofelia Hristrova are two that every performance that they have ever done are in Youtube, it bothers because they use Ghena Dimitrova´s name for their names to come out in all searches , and they all want to be like her, singing her repertorie etc.

I heard Elena Baramova as Aida, at Avenches Opera Festival. She was amazing. Brava!
