I'm still waiting for the good news
Only a month before her farewell to Las Vegas, pop hurleuse Céline Dion is already making plans for her future. According to Newsweek, "in February, she'll begin an international tour. Then she plans on settling down in Florida, where she'll see if she can turn herself into a movie star (her dream project is a biopic of the Greek singer Maria Callas) . . ."Labels: filth

Wow, the hair-to-face ratio is wacky, ain't it?
As for her singing, did anyone else hear a noticeable decline in her vocal resources when she sang at last year's Oscars? I think that three years of singing umpteen shows per week in Vegas has had its effect. It could have just been an off-night...
Maybe Peter Gelb will line her up for the Met.
It's times like this that I know just how Ortrud felt... (wish I had some pagan gods to invoke)
now I want to see a Norma, with her as Norma, plus Charlotte Church and Andrea Bocelli. Stage by Cirque du soleil.
No, it's Zimmerman's Lucia ghost!
How can anyone look at that album cover photo and think that America's Soprano has "had work"?
Now tut tut! I am in Quebec (and a bit biased), so while I will admit that our Celine is a souless sound machine, all the same she does what she does supremely well. You can't belt friggin high like that year after year and not know what you are doing. That being said, I wouldn't cross the street to hear her.
kashania, as for Celine's vocal resources, it may also be worth pointing out that she has the same voice teacher as that "Earring Magic Ken" guy posted on here a while back...
"... (her dream project is a biopic of the Greek singer Maria Callas) . . ."
Another? The last one was awful enough, surely.
This poor pet already occupies a place in history- i.e.- as having the most ridiculous, overdone wedding dress and head dress. She probably thought by wearing it no one would notice the fact she was marrying her grandfathers father.
Bocelli is out of the Met, and that's offcial (Playbill Arts). Dion to play Callas? Even if Callas' voice is dubbed, it would be a joke, like a fluffy bunny roaring in the voice of a tigress.
There is a god. Bocelli not being at the Met!
