“Horror has it’s ultimate and this is it!”….what opera is that aria from?

I understand the appeal for her. I hear that Malibran keeps you regular and just the thing for a healthy colon and stool.

What a cover! Madame Cieca, how do you come up with these things?

Bartoli finally got on my nerves with her Opera Proibita CD from a couple of years ago.

    Pirooz-

It’s a quote from the movie, “THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN’T DIE”. It was on Mystery Science Theater 3000 a while back: hilariously bad movie.

Would love opinions here… was just listening to an aria of hers on the Music Choice cable channel (sometimes they play interesting stuff!) and she actually sounded really good, with power. I’ve never heard her like that live so I’m wondering if she’s more a studio voice than live. Thoughts?

FightGravity: go and see her live. That’s the best way to appreciate Bartoli. There’s a lot of people here who can’t stand her, icluding madame la Cieca, it appears. I happen to adore her CDs but really find her the best of live performers. Don’t expect a big voice. That’s all. But what she does with it is amazing and the way her whole body radiates energy is unbelievable. The technique is incredible and the use of text too.

For me, she’s even more unbearable live. The head bobbing and facial tics drive me up a wall.

La Cieca, your brilliance with images has not faded. LOL
