    Screams, laughs, 1 word, 2 notes … all very well if you have and know the performances. I found I could identify most (but not all) of the Normas even though I only have 2 Norma recordings. This was because the length of the excerpts allowed me to recognise the singers from their style, mannerisms, tone etc. Others may welcome more demanding or more obscure criteria. How about a Liebestod (says he, having done a 7 singer Liebestod for a quiz of his own devising).
