Sometimes the cabin’s gloomy and the table’s bare

“Wall to Wall Opera,” a 13 hour orgy of things operatic, inhabits Symphony Space beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Among the festivities is a master class in bel canto interpretation by Renata Scotto, but the moment La Cieca most eagerly awaits will arrive courtesy of Encompass Opera Theatre. We are promised a performance of “The Silver Aria” from the haunting opera by John LaTouche and Douglas Moore, The Ballad of Baby Joe.

Thanks for the info and link.

Will it be sung by Sylvia Bills?

  • Baritenor says:

Why is the silver aria, whole a beautiful peice, of course, the highlight of the evening La Cieca over your own personal diva’s masterclass?

  • Van Twee says:

    Whatever happened to Baby Joe?

I am on the verge of a heart attack!!
Almost all of the Mariella Devia videos have been suspended on YouTube because YouTube has suspended the account of the individual who posted so many of them: Loganfacincy26. I am short of breath and think I am going to faint! What are we to do!?!?! Someone HELP!!!

Youtube also dropped the video of the recording of Caruso singing “Over There” from 1918. I am still wondering what the legal problems were with that one.

  • J says:

Did anyone go to La Scotto’s masterclass?

  • Donna Anna says:

Hmmm..YouTube has removed a lot of videos, not just those of Loganfacincy26′s. Late spring cleaning?
