These two gentlemen (Craig Ramsay and Timothy John Mandala) are among the players in Matthew Passion: A New Play (with music) by La Cieca’s erstwhile colleague Phil Hall. The show opens Monday, April 2, 2007 at 8:00 pm for a limited engagement.
Per the show’s press notes, “Matthew Passion tells the story of the passion of Christ; the story of Matthew Shepard being picked up at a bar in Laramie, Wyoming, beaten and left for dead on a hillside; and the story of a middle-aged HIV positive survivor who has outlived his life expectancy. Although the three stories take place in three different locations, and are thousands of years apart, they all reflect one another and converge in the final scene.”

I was hoping the picture was from a new staging of “Don Carlo” soon to be available on DVD. Oh well, one can dream.

In the cast of The Matthew Passion is James Royce Edwards, whom I saw in Altar Boyz and at the Goodspeed Opera House in Pippin. He’s was good in both, but his webside http://www.jamesroyceedwards.com is filled with nice beefcake shots.

Don’t get me wrong, I love a hot boy as much as the next guy…but this web site is skanky…Put a shirt on once in a while man! And then….and THEN I see he has like a Christian country CD he’s put out. You know, I used to understand things. Maybe I just don’t understand HIS love.
Guess the main point for those horrible happenings linked together from different times was to make people thinking: Phenomena like discrimination, racism and unability to tolerate differance is existing still, everyday among us..
