Kiri is AussieBummed – “I’m No BVDiva”
This is fucking hilarious–and not just because I’ve had two manhattans and 1/3 a bottle of wine (okay, 1/2 a bottle)…I read this on artsjournal.com yesterday and laughed my ass off (I wish) and of course sent it to my ex-lover/tenor friend…thanks, la cieca, for highlighting it…(as I’m listening to Rysanek’s rendition of “In questa reggia”)
To quote Lillian LeFluer from Nine:
“I LOVE it!”
Just like the James Bond adage for ‘a martini shaken, not stirred’
try “Panties stir….Diva shaken”
Priceless.
Why would they throw it at an aging soprano. With Fleming or Gheorghiu, I can understand. But Te Kanawa?
op chanteuse — you can’t be serious. I’d throw a custard pie at Fleming or a strudel at Gheorghiu, but Kiri — this jock’s for you!
Mwah!
