La Cieca has been informed that there’s an emergency meeting called this afternoon at the Met on the subject of, well, let’s just say, “The Emperor’s New Clothes.” Let’s hope staffers are able to clear the air!

Just my opinion at the time. And plus I don’t like operas without melodies as I predict this one won’t. As for your Wagner was no Mozart bit, you are right. He had no voice culture, as Angela Gheorghiu puts it. Also, he could have benefited the use of an editor like Tenore.

Does that dazzling flash of Gheorghiu brilliance mean that she will leave Wagner well alone? Praise the lord.

I don’t think La Gheorghiu is thinking of putting Isolde and Sieglinde in her repertoire anytime soon. Wagner sucks anyway, and La Draculette doesn’t do operas that suck.

By the way, Il guarany, the Wagner sucks bit came from Gheorghiu and not mine’s. Although, I kind of agree with her.
