Psychedelic Psumac
Speaking of the Ynimitable Yma, La Cieca was just sent a track from the Queen of Exotica’s 1971 acid-rock classic “Miracles!” You only think you know Camp until you experience “Let Me Hear You.”

Ah, never duplicated, believe me! While checking the archives at home, I found my copy of this LP, which I plan to upload to RapidShare later today. Here are the notes, a masterpiece in themselves: “‘Miracles’ reunites the extraordinary five-octave voice of Peru’s Yma Sumac with Les Baxter, the producer of her first album, ‘The Voice of Xtabay’ (released in 1950). Acclaimed for her powerful and unique artistry, Miss Sumac achieved world fame during the Fifties with the use of Mr. Baxter’s productions. He has chosen to record Yma in a contemporary setting [note: this LP is from 1972--M.L.] with a four-piece rock band and modern recording techniques. The results are a stunning showcase for an unparalleled performer. Yma is an adventurous musician. She has conquered many modes, from Peruvian folksongs, through operatic arias, as well as popular Latin songs and international folk music. Now, in her very unique way, she tackles rock. ‘Miracles’ melds the most extraordinary music of this century with the most extraordinary voice of three generations–an improvisational tour de force.” Thanks for all the coverage of Yma, and for the audio and video, La Cieca!
As I promised, here is the link for the LP dub on RapidShare. It is a zip file with 10 mp3s. Enjoy!

Oh, Jesus.
Bjork’s Medulla comes to mind.
There are no words adequate to describe what I’ve just listened to!
That was like finding Jesus in the middle of Hell holding a Jeff Stryker dildo and wearing a pink tutu and black combat boots.
Listening to that clip, I just had to picture Adam West as Batman, awkwardly dancing the slow Watusi with Catwoman, as played by Julie Newmar. Far out!
I ll post the links for the rest of tracks i could upload ( i hope u got all the links Cieca)

I have to recommend my fav tracks: Magenta Mountain (by far!!) the best on this album. Then Medicine Man is just amazing, and azure sands. Flame Tree is very nice too. This album rocks!
My old link on this expired long ago. In case anyone stumbles on this thread, here is a new link to the album. Enjoy!
