La Cieca is grateful for all her blessings, including the 1962 live performance of Il trovatore featured on the current episode of Unnatural Acts of Opera. (Lots of ham here, but no turkey!)

Dear Cieca, let me congratule you for your work on parterre box.
People like you makes opera a chronical adiction. I´d like you to post , if
it were possible, a perfomance of Don Carlo with Placido Domingo and
the best Elisabetta di Valois of all the history “THE GREAT SENA
    JURINAC”.God Bless you

Definitely no turkeys here, La Cieca! Every performance I have heard on “Unnatural Acts of Opera”
has been excellent, and parterre.com is always both informative and fun. One thing I am definitely thankful for is that I happened upon this site while doing some research for my work; it’s a real joy, and lifts the spirits even on the toughest days.
Luis Carlos has it right: God bless you for all you do! Have a terrific Thanksgiving, and may the closest you get to an operatic turkey be “Il Turco in Italia!”

Yes, this Price-Corelli pairing is a great document.

I love the way they sounded this early in their careers.

Thank you for reminding us how glorious things were.

One of the things that I love about the performance is Simionato doing her version of 76 trombones when she ventures down the scale in “Deh! Rallentar o barbari”. How versatile she was with that amber voice of hers.
